The Municipal Service Building (MSB) is a unique building typology that encompasses a mixture of different programs, creating a space with heterogeneous elements and occupancy. However, we often take for granted the hybridity of the MSB without fully comprehending its eerie and strange quality that permeates reality. In the lens of estrangement theory, this studio celebrates the accidents and events that unfold within its architectural framework and embraces feelings and fragmentary associations it evokes, whichshapes our psychic experience and define the very background metropolitan activities.We will also challenge the conventional understandingof envelope as a static separation between the inside and outside and explore its potentiality through urban imagery it produces and the environmental concerns it addresses.
